Amistad Spanish Instruction

Learning another language is like building a bridge between people.  Amistad means friendship in Spanish and reflects our mission to build person-to-person friendship, understanding, and respect. The instructor, Tricia Idrobo, uses eclectic methods to teach Spanish in a relaxed, effective and pleasant manner.

 

   Tricia Amistad

Tricia Idrobo is a New Jersey certified Teacher of Spanish. She has worked in several north New Jersey school districts, teaching high school Spanish I through Advanced Placement Spanish 5, and also Bilingual education at the high school and middle school level.  She learned Spanish as an exchange student in Ecuador, South America, went on to earn a BA in Spanish at the University of Dayton, and later did graduate studies in Puebla, Mexico and Soria, Spain. She has also traveled to Guatemala and Nicaragua and lived in a Spanish-speaking neighborhood of Miami, Florida, thus gaining some knowledge of the regional differences found in Spanish.  She loves to learn languages, and has a working knowledge of Haitian Creole, Italian, and is now studying Hindi and American Sign Language (ASL.)  She enjoys teaching Spanish through stories, games and conversation.
